- What is the fish source of cardiozen?
Sardines and pilchards, harvested from the unpolluted southern oceans.
-
Is cardiozen free from environmental pollutants?
Yes. Our source oils are of unrivalled purity, but to be sure, every batch is independently tested to make sure that any nasty elements such as PCBs or dioxins are not present. Check out the Equazen Process to see how we look after our oil.
- What are the benefits of a HI EPA formulation?
Research has proven that the omega 3 fatty acid EPA helps maintain normal blood pressure, stabilizes heart rhythm and improves arterial elasticity whilst reducing blood triglyceride levels. EPA also increases HDL cholesterol - the good cholesterol - thereby reducing blood clotting. This is why cardiozen contains mostly EPA.
- How much cardiozen should I take?
One capsule a day will give more than 400 mg of EPA, which is almost in line with research advising 500 mg of EPA consumption daily. So on a maintenance intake, just one capsule a day would be sufficient. However for optimal benefit, one can consume up to three capsules during the initial 12 weeks, or at times when more EPA may be required.
- Can I take cardiozen alongside other medication?
One of the main benefits of cardiozen is its anti-coagulent action, so anyone on a prescribed course of anti-coagulent drugs would certainly be cautioned against any excessive omega-3 intake. But cardiozen can be taken in conjunction with most prescribed medicines: if you have any doubts about its suitability for you, please consult your Doctor.
- Are there any side effects?
In rare cases, some people may experience loose stools or nausea when commencing supplementation. This is a digestive intolerance that is usually temporary: just reduce your intake, and always take cardiozen with food.
- Are there any additives included in cardiozen?
The only additives are natural Vitamin E and CoQ10 which are included in a form that is easy to absorb. cardiozen is free of any artificial additives, flavourings or synthetic compounds. CoQ10 and Vitamin E are powerful anti-oxidants, added to protect the long chain fatty acids from free radicals within our bodies, thus enabling them to continue with their vital work. CoQ10 also plays an important role in the production of energy within cells of muscle tissue.
- How does cardiozen compare?
The fish oil in cardiozen is pharmaceutical grade, having been processed at an FDA-approved facility to ensure exceptional purity. cardiozen has been specially concentrated to provide 80% omega-3 long chain fatty acids, and to be particularly rich in one fatty acid - EPA. The EPA to DHA ratio in cardiozen is 6 to 1 ensuring maximum EPA efficacy.
Crucially, the oil in cardiozen is delivered in its natural triglyceride state: this product is not an ethyl ester, a synthetic form of fatty acids that is not in the optimum state for the human body to absorb. Finally, the addition of CoQ10 in cardiozen puts the cherry on the cake - this powerful antioxidant is very important for intracellular energy production, and is regarded as essential for maintaining cardiovascular health.
